DUI Suspended License Charges in Vista Courts

DUI suspended license charges in Vista Courts have significant penalties. There are three main suspended license offenses which vary with the reason for the suspension.  All of the charges require driving on a suspended license and notice to the driver of the suspension.  A license can be suspended for being a negligent operator, too many moving violations within a period of time triggering a suspension.  There can be a suspension for failure to appear on a traffic tickets, or an alcohol related DUI suspended license for for driving under the influence or over the legal limit of .08 blood alcohol (B.A.) level or .01 or more for minors or probationers.

It is the DUI suspended license for an alcohol offense which carries the greatest penalties  The code section is California Vehicle Code 14601.2(a).  If you are caught driving on an alcohol supension, the car you were driving gets impounded for 30 days which costs the owner about $ 1500 to get out of impound.  There is a mandatory jail term of a minimum of 10 days to 6 months on a first offense and 30 days to a year on a second offense.  There is a fine up to $ 1000 which is significantly greater when you add penalty assessments etc. onto it.  Additionally, if you are convicted of driving in violation of an alcohol suspension, regardless whether there is any alcohol in your system at the time, you face having up an Ignition Interlock device installed on any vehicle you own and drive for up to 3 years.

It is important to try and avoid driving while having a alcohol related license suspension.   That is why setting the DMV hearing within 10 days of your arrest is important to challenge any suspesion and get a 60 day driving privilege instead of the thirty day privilege with the pink slip suspesnion notice.  There are also other requirements and strategies to avoid or minimize any suspesion.  Call Christoph Law Offices 760-941-5720 for a free consultation and additional information concerning driver's license suspensions.  With over 30 years across from Vista Courts and over 3000 DUI cases handled, they know what can be done and how to do it.
