Where are most Oceanside DUI arrests?

Most Oceanside DUI arrests occur downtown Oceanside, the I-5 freeway, Highway 76, Highway 78 and El Camino Real.  California Highway Patrol makes most of the I-5, Hwy 76 and Hwy 78 arrests and Oceanside Police Department make most of the arrests downtown and on El Camino Real.

It seems that most DUI arrests are made between 9:00 p.m.and 3 a.m., however during large sporting events like the Super Bowl and Holiday weekends, DUI arrests from event parties and sports bars pick up considerably in the late afternoon.

Driving under the influence is often incorrectly called "Drunk Driving" when in fact it is driving while impaired so that you no longer have the ability to drive with the same care and caution as a sober person under similar circumstances, or you are driving with .08 BA or more regardless of any impairment.  Impairment can happen even before you feel that buzz because your reflexes judgment and coordination start to degrade at the .05 level according to the American Medical Association.  Large muscle physical impairment is more apparent at higher blood alcohol levels.  While everyone is different, and tolerances for alcohol vary from individual to individual, some people equate blood alcohol (BA) levels with common feelings of intoxication.  For instance, it has been said that in most people a .10 BA is a buzz, a .20 is a stumbling drunk, a .30 is comatose and a .40 is dead.  This overbroad generalization may not be entirely accurate but it trys to put the BA numbers in context.
